Bellwether Level 1 — Overview#
Product outcome#
Bellwether teaches Kiduna by letting a Source make one consequential thing with people and intelligent companions. The player arrives on an island, meets one family with six enduring points of view, pitches what they want to make happen, receives a provisional Orientation, explores, creates an Ally, starts or joins a Project, contributes, takes part in a resource decision, encounters an unresolved temporal mystery, and opens a bridge to the wider Reality Game.
The level is complete when those actions form a durable graph of relationships, Artifacts, decisions, permissions, and Records—not when a progress bar fills.
Constitutional decisions#
- Bellwether is a Project Realm in Play mode, expressed through 2.5D isometric Scenes.
- Source, Avatar, Ally, Actor, and Ki stay distinct. One identity may have several contextual representations.
- Creator, Builder, Organizer, and Catalyst are canonical contribution Roles. Merchant, Rogue, Warrior, and Noble are game identities only.
- Compass Roses are the canonical fourfold iconography used in this game context; they create no new Archetypes.
- The family are six canonical Actors with shared state plus permissioned per-Source relationship memories. Scene projections do not clone them.
- Language captures intent. Consequential change uses ActionRequest → authorization → confirmation → Command → Record.
- Default Level 1 economics are sandboxed. Real settlement is a separately gated external operation.
- Time travel remains interpretively open. The system records observations and player interpretations, never a definitive cosmology.
Shipping slices#
- Ten minutes: arrival, humor, place, family, the pitch question.
- Thirty minutes: complete pitch, inspect Orientation, choose a personalized quest, leave The Lantern.
- Two hours: meet a collaborator, weave an Ally, enter The Apiary, make an accepted Contribution, signal a resource decision, complete The Second Bell.
- Return session: receive an Actor message, find a Project or portal changed, and continue from a stable return anchor.
Package contract#
The package contains 17 Scene specifications, 130 explicit asset records, 41 Portals, 14 quests, 41 event definitions, 22 schemas, and a static documentation Site. Run npm run validate before treating any change as releasable.
