# Canon provenance

Status: source-of-truth record · Version 0.1.0 · 2026-08-21

This system was designed against the validated authoritative Kiduna Taxonomy Canon bundled in the local canon skill at the time of release.

- Canon version: **V0.36**
- Canon timestamp: **2026-08-16 14:11 EDT**
- Canon SHA-256: `df2ead9b000482057b4f2ed909d1242e0cdfd32d0e8c3027807e309856a2a17c`
- Project release: **0.1.0 · 2026-08-21**

Validated copies of `canonical-taxonomy.md` and `canon-manifest.json` are preserved in `references/canon/`. The project does not edit or supersede them.

## Applied distinctions

- **Source:** a human being. Never represented as an AI agent or reduced to a wallet, account or profile.
- **Avatar:** the Source’s canonical representation within a Realm; its form may be contextual without becoming a separate Source.
- **Ki:** the Genesis Ally and a distinct presence, not a person-shaped universal assistant.
- **Ally:** a bounded agent with explicit skills, permissions, relationships and identity.
- **Actor:** a non-conscious deterministic or instrumental process; visually distinct from an Ally.
- **Scene:** a spatial organization of Components for a purpose.
- **Area:** a logical organization that can include Components and Scenes.
- **Panel:** world-contained UI; **Overlay:** interface over the world; **Chrome:** surrounding application interface.
- **Portal:** a transition-bearing Component with destination, orientation, state and permission semantics.

## Change rule

If canon changes, do not edit these definitions in place. Validate the new canon first, create a new release, record the new version/checksum, run a term-diff against schemas and documentation, migrate fixture records, then rerun the complete acceptance suite.
