Open this family ↓A COMPLETE ENAMEL COSMOLOGY
System 12 · First edition · 24 August 2026Seventy-five small enamel windows into the movement of reality—where form and emptiness, stillness and motion, yielding and resistance continually become one another.
“The Tao is not a set of answers. It is the pattern through which opposites continually become one another.”

THE GOVERNING PRINCIPLE
Every tile carries one capacity through Gift, Shadow, Excess, Deficiency, and Return. Dark is not bad. Light is not good. Water nourishes and floods; Mountain shelters and obstructs. A reading asks what the force does here, at this intensity, for this duration, in relation to what.
FIVE LEVELS
The roster moves from cosmological depth into natural and practical encounter without flattening Taoism into a list of motivational concepts.
Tao, Wu, Being, Non-Being, One, Two, the ten thousand things, Return, Emptiness, and Mystery. The most spacious faces hold the deepest principles.
Open this family ↓Seven complementary pairs reveal yin and yang as tendencies within change—not moral teams, personalities, or permanent identities.
Open this family ↓Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water generate and regulate one another as a living cycle rather than a set of static substances.
Open this family ↓Exact three-line geometry becomes heaven, earth, thunder, wind, water, fire, mountain, and lake: the architectural backbone of the system.

The way before definition: source, course, and unpossessed order.
Open complete tile +A blue-black field; a circular current appears only in raking light; one gold thread remains open.
Form arises without exhausting its source.
The situation is larger than the frame being used. Attend to its course before choosing a position.
Orientation without fixation.
The nameless way is reduced to a doctrine, brand, or answer.
Vagueness becomes an excuse to evade particulars.
Every event is treated as isolated and controllable.
QuestionWhat changes when I stop demanding that the whole be nameable?
ActionDelay the verdict. Observe one full cycle before intervening.

Absence as an active condition: what is not possessed, imposed, or occupied.
Open complete tile +Exposed blackened silver surrounds an enamel opening that refuses a center.
A claim, object, or intention withdraws and capacity appears.
What is missing may be the operative fact—or the needed opening.
Freedom from capture.
Absence is mistaken for nihilism or neglect.
Erasure strips away necessary form and care.
No room remains for emergence.
QuestionWhat am I trying to possess that must remain open?
ActionUnclench one claim, schedule, role, or interpretation.

Manifest presence: the named, formed, available face of reality.
Open complete tile +One white-jade form condenses from a dark field, its boundary still porous.
Potential takes shape and becomes encounterable.
Something must become concrete now, but it need not become permanent.
Specificity, contact, and usable form.

QuestionWhat form is ready to be inhabited rather than merely imagined?
ActionGive the next step a name, boundary, and duration.

The unmanifest pole from which forms become possible and to which they cease.
Open complete tile +A cloud-white edge dissolves into a deep void; the unseen center carries the composition.
Definition recedes before another form appears.
A form has completed its usefulness; its absence may be generative.
Renewal through unfixing.
The unmanifest is romanticized as superior to embodied life.
Dissolution consumes distinctions that still matter.
Nothing is allowed to end, empty, or become unknown.
QuestionWhich ending am I misreading as mere loss?
ActionStop maintaining one expired form.

Undivided coherence before polarity, not sameness imposed upon difference.
Open complete tile +A single irregular silver ring, almost closed, holds black and pearl currents without separating them.
Many tensions gather into one field.
The reading asks for the whole pattern, not victory for one part.
Coherence and common ground.
Unity becomes conformity.
A totalizing story absorbs every difference.
Fragmentation prevents any shared course.
QuestionWhat belongs to the same field even though it is not the same?
ActionName the shared condition beneath the dispute.

Differentiation through which relation, polarity, and change become visible.

Wonder disciplined by humility.
Mystery is used to conceal weak claims or claim secret authority.
Obscurity becomes prestige and inquiry is discouraged.
Only the measurable is permitted to matter.
QuestionCan I remain exact at the edge of what I cannot know?

Flow follows contour, accumulates, erodes, floods, freezes, or disappears.
Use responsiveness rather than direct force. Also check for overwhelm, leakage, or hidden depth.
Adaptation, depth, persistence, and nourishment.
Yielding becomes evasion; depth becomes danger or concealment.
Flooding overwhelms boundaries, or erosion continues unseen.
Depletion leaves no reserve or connecting flow.
QuestionWhere is the lowest true path—not merely the easiest escape?

Open complete tile +An irregular pale block sits inside a ring of elaborate tools that remain untouched.
Possibility waits before selection and shaping.
Do not decide too early what this must become. But notice when openness is avoiding a necessary cut.
Adaptability, latent capacity, and freedom from premature definition.
Unformed potential becomes an excuse never to commit.

Fear keeps the old state intact after it has ceased to fit.
QuestionWhat must be left behind for the crossing to be real?
ActionName the before and after; make one crossing act.

Hidden anchoring through reciprocal contact with the ground that feeds and resists.
Open complete tile +Dark roots negotiate between jade stones and small pockets of water below an open field.

Look below the visible issue for the relationships that feed and hold it.
Grounding, nourishment, continuity, and unseen relation.
Rootedness becomes entrenchment, possession, or hidden extraction.
Attachment grips depleted ground and crowds neighboring life.
No support reaches the visible branch; effort becomes brittle.
QuestionWhat am I drawing from, and what am I returning?
ActionMap one hidden support and reciprocate it.

Differentiated reach: one source exploring several directions without ceasing to be related.
Open complete tile +A jade-gold branch divides irregularly; one twig ends, two continue beyond the frame.
Rooted continuity tests multiple paths.
Several paths are possible; not all require equal investment.
Experiment, distribution, and plural possibility.
Branching becomes distraction, hierarchy, or unchecked proliferation.
Too many extensions starve the trunk and one another.
A single route bears all risk and cannot adapt.
QuestionWhich branch is alive, and which only preserves an option?
ActionFeed one branch, prune one, leave one to observe.

A selective opening that regulates passage between fields.
Open complete tile +Two dark brass leaves form an off-center opening filled with mist, not a door.
Boundary becomes passage under particular conditions.
The issue is not simply open or closed, but who or what may pass, when, and why.
Access, discernment, protection, and transition.
Guardianship becomes exclusion, secrecy, or control of others’ movement.
Too many conditions make passage impossible.
No threshold protects context, privacy, or sequence.
QuestionWhat condition makes this passage fitting?
ActionWrite one clear entry condition and one clear refusal.

Rhythmic exchange that joins inner and outer without making them identical.
Open complete tile +A cloud-white current enters a dark vessel and leaves as a thinner gold-green line.
Receiving and releasing alternate; neither can be held indefinitely.
Return to rhythm before interpretation. This is grounding, not diagnosis or treatment.
Regulation, renewal, presence, and connection.
Breath is mystified into a cure-all or used to bypass material conditions.
Control tightens the rhythm until ease is lost.
Exchange becomes shallow, interrupted, or one-sided.
QuestionWhat am I taking in, and what am I refusing to release?
ActionTake three unforced breaths; then answer once.

A path made by moving relation: source, bank, obstacle, confluence, and destination continually reshape one another.
Open complete tile +A silver-blue river enters from one corner, divides around stone, joins rain, and exits lower than it began.
Flow follows gravity while erosion and sediment remake the route.
Read the whole course, especially upstream causes and downstream receivers.
Continuity, adaptation, connection, and carried memory.
The current carries contamination, cuts banks, or makes inevitability of its own habit.
Flooding erases distinctions and downstream choice.
Disconnection from source leaves a dry channel and stranded banks.
QuestionWhat am I carrying that belongs upstream—or must be released before it travels farther?
ActionTrace one consequence from source to downstream edge.

Distributed descent that nourishes, reveals saturation, and links sky to ground.
Open complete tile +Fine silver droplets fall unevenly into jade earth; one basin overflows while another remains dry.

Something is arriving across the field. Notice unequal reception and saturation.
Relief, replenishment, and shared nourishment.
Blessing language ignores flood, timing, inequity, or damaged ground.
Excess overwhelms absorption and carries the soil away.
Withholding leaves seeds dormant and channels empty.
QuestionWhere can this offering be absorbed, and where will it run off?
ActionReduce concentration; spread one resource toward dry ground.

Form held temporarily in suspension: gathering, obscuring, carrying, and preparing release.
Open complete tile +A deep-blue enamel cloud gathers around an exposed silver void; one edge begins to rain.
Invisible vapor condenses into a mobile body.
The situation is forming but not settled. Read density, direction, and readiness to release.
Incubation, shade, transport, and approaching change.
Ambiguity becomes evasion, mood becomes authority, or gathering never releases.
Accumulation darkens the field and delays necessary discharge.
Nothing gathers long enough to become rain or signal.
QuestionWhat is gathering, and what would tell me it is ready to fall?
ActionWait for one concrete sign, then act.

Partial visibility that softens fixed edges and makes distance uncertain.
Open complete tile +Cloud-white enamel drifts across dark jade forms, revealing one contour while dissolving another.
Water and air mingle near the ground; boundaries appear and vanish.
Only the next distance is visible. Proceed without inventing the far view.
Gentleness, patience, and freedom from premature certainty.
Ambiguity shelters projection, avoidance, or covert action.
Obscurity becomes disorientation and prevents consent.
Harsh certainty fixes contours that have not yet resolved.
QuestionWhat is actually visible from here?
ActionName the nearest landmark and take one careful step.

Hollow-jointed resilience: flexible because strength is segmented and the center is open.
Open complete tile +Two green bamboo culms bend differently under rain; gold nodes punctuate their hollow lengths.
Pressure travels through flexible spans and articulated joints.
Adapt, but inspect the points where pressure concentrates.
Resilience, growth, community, and disciplined emptiness.
Flexibility performs grace while damage accumulates at the joints.
Endless bending produces collapse or silent resentment.
Rigidity or weak joints prevent recovery after force.
QuestionWhich joint needs reinforcement before I bend again?
ActionSupport one transition point and release one rigid span.

Endurance through seasons: conserving life without pretending winter is summer.
Open complete tile +A dark-green pine leans from black rock; sparse needles remain under silver snow.
Growth slows, structure holds, and life is rationed through hardship.
The task may be to endure without hardening into identity.
Constancy, memory, and winter resilience.
Endurance becomes pride in deprivation or refusal of help.
Survival mode persists and excludes renewal.
Commitment collapses at the first cold season.
QuestionWhat must be conserved, and what help would keep endurance alive?
ActionProtect the living core and ask for one form of support.

Measured elevation: patient stillness that becomes precise movement and long passage.
Open complete tile +A spare white crane stands in shallow dark water, one leg lifted, with a wide empty sky above.
Waiting concentrates attention; a single movement crosses distance.
Step back far enough to see timing, then make one precise move.
Perspective, timing, dignity, and migration.
Elevation becomes aloofness, omen-making, or superiority.
Distance severs the bird from ground, flock, and season.
No vantage or patience precedes action.
QuestionWhat becomes visible only with distance—and what detail might distance conceal?
ActionTake a higher view, verify one ground fact, then act once.

Protected longevity: carrying a boundary while moving at the pace continuity requires.
Open complete tile +A black-jade turtle crosses a shallow silver current; its shell echoes a dark sky pattern without inscription.
A vulnerable life advances within a portable enclosure.
Choose the pace and protection that allow the journey to continue.
Patience, protection, continuity, and measured response.
Protection becomes withdrawal, fatalism, or false claims of prediction.
The shell closes against nourishment and change.
Exposure and haste sacrifice continuity.
QuestionWhat boundary would let me keep moving rather than disappear?
ActionSlow the pace and strengthen one protective condition.

Latent transformative potency moving between depth, cloud, rain, and emergence.
Open complete tile +A single abstract jade-gold serpentine current joins river to cloud; no heraldic beast or face.
Hidden force rises, changes medium, and alters the weather of the field.
A strong transformative current is present. Give it a channel and a responsibility.
Transformation, vitality, scale-shifting, and catalytic presence.
Power becomes grandiosity, spectacle, or borrowed cultural exoticism.
Uncontained potency dominates every relation.
Vital force remains buried, fragmented, or denied.
QuestionWhat would this power serve if it did not need to impress?
ActionChoose one accountable channel for the strongest energy.

Focused boundary power: embodied presence, decisive protection, and dangerous appetite.
Open complete tile +A white-metal tiger stripe and paw trace enter from the tile edge; the animal remains mostly in shadow.
Stored strength gathers at an edge and can spring.
Power and risk are close. Determine whether force protects relation or feeds appetite.
Courage, protection, precision, and embodied limit.
Protection becomes threat, domination, or predation.
Force patrols every boundary and creates the danger it expects.
Fear or dissociation leaves the boundary undefended.
QuestionWhat exactly requires protection, and how much force is enough?
ActionName the boundary and choose the least force that can hold it.

Borrowed light and rhythmic change: visibility that waxes, wanes, and depends on relation.
Open complete tile +A moon-silver disc is mostly absent; its thin lit edge is reflected in dark water.
Light changes with position; absence becomes phase rather than failure.
Conditions are cyclical and partially lit. Work with the present phase, not the imagined full view.
Reflection, rhythm, inward vision, and patience.
Indirectness becomes projection, secrecy, or dependence on another’s light.
Cycles govern every choice and delay necessary constancy.
No reflection or darkness allows subtle pattern to emerge.
QuestionWhat is visible in this phase, and what must wait?
ActionAct within the available light; set a time to review.

Direct radiance that reveals, warms, organizes rhythm, and can scorch.
Open complete tile +An off-center gold disc opens a cloud-white field; its lower rim darkens into heat.
Light and heat spread outward without selecting recipients.
Visibility is high. Use it to clarify and nourish, not to dominate or overexpose.
Clarity, vitality, rhythm, and public presence.
Brightness becomes exposure, centrality, or demand for constant positivity.
Heat dries the field and erases shade.
No signal or warmth organizes growth and activity.
QuestionWhat deserves light, and what needs shade?
ActionIlluminate one issue and protect one private space.

Distant orientation: a small steady relation that helps position without dictating the path.
Open complete tile +One pale-gold star sits in a large blue-black field; three faint points form an incomplete relation.
A remote signal becomes a reference across distance and time.
A long-range value can guide the next step, but it cannot replace local conditions.
Orientation, perspective, and long continuity.
Guidance becomes destiny, abstraction, or escape from local evidence.
The distant ideal overrides terrain and present need.
Without any reference, local motion loses direction.
QuestionWhat distant reference helps me orient without controlling the route?
ActionName one guiding value and one ground fact.

Concentrated future held in a protected form, dependent on conditions it cannot command.
Open complete tile +A small dark seed with a gold seam rests in open earth beneath an absent sun.
Potential waits, absorbs, and eventually breaks its own enclosure.
Potential is real but conditional. Attend to the field, not only the promise.
Readiness, inheritance, patience, and compact possibility.
Potential is romanticized without regard for soil, season, or viability.
Protection prevents germination; expectation burdens the future form.
No reserve or coherent possibility survives the present.
QuestionWhich condition—not intention—is missing for germination?
ActionProvide one necessary condition and stop handling the seed.

Vulnerable emergence: life crossing from protected potential into exposed growth.
Open complete tile +A single river-green shoot splits dark earth; its curve leans toward partial light.
The enclosure breaks and a new form tests direction.
Something new is visible and fragile. Support its conditions rather than announcing its destiny.
Courage, renewal, learning, and responsive beginning.
Newness demands protection from all friction or seeks praise before rooting.
Growth stretches too fast and exhausts the seed.
Emergence is delayed by fear, depleted ground, or absent light.
QuestionWhat does this beginning need before it can bear weight?
ActionProtect the next growth interval and reduce one demand.

Brief visible opening that invites exchange and cannot be kept.
Open complete tile +An asymmetrical pale blossom opens on one branch; a few petals already loosen.
Accumulated growth becomes attraction, signaling, and exchange.
A visible opening can invite relation, but it is a moment, not the final result.
Beauty, invitation, recognition, and timely openness.
Appearance is confused with maturity, worth, or guaranteed fruit.
Display consumes the plant and seeks permanent spring.
Closedness prevents exchange and recognition.
QuestionWhat is ready to be shown without being mistaken for completion?
ActionShare the work at its present stage; name what is still becoming.

Ripened consequence: nourishment and seed carried together at the end of a growth cycle.
Open complete tile +A single jade-and-cinnabar fruit hangs low; one cut reveals a dark seed inside.
Growth concentrates into an offering that also carries another beginning.
A consequence is ready to be received. Ask who is fed and what future it carries.
Harvest, generosity, consequence, and continuation.
Outcome becomes possession, status, or proof of personal control.
Ripeness turns to hoarding and rot because nothing is shared.
The cycle is harvested too early or never allowed to mature.
QuestionWhat part is nourishment, and what part must be replanted?
ActionHarvest, share, and save one seed.

Form loosening into smaller relations so stored material can re-enter the world.
Open complete tile +A dark fruit skin opens into gold-brown fragments, fungi-like enamel dots, and exposed earth.
Structure breaks down; boundaries soften; nutrients and memory redistribute.
An ending is materially active. Grieve, protect, and allow transformation.
Release, humility, decomposition, and transition.
Loss is aestheticized or used to excuse preventable neglect.
Breakdown outruns containment and spreads harm.
Nothing is allowed to end, soften, or return its materials.
QuestionWhat is finished, and what can it now feed?
ActionStop preserving one dead form; place its useful parts into a new context.

Collaborative transformation of discarded matter into fertile, altered ground.
Open complete tile +Layered brown, green, and black enamel fragments warm around a small gold core; steam rises.
Many remnants break down together through time, moisture, heat, and air.
The question is not how to restore the old form, but how its remnants can become ground.
Regeneration, integration, and value recovered from endings.
“Everything is useful” denies grief, toxicity, or what must be discarded safely.
The heap overheats, putrefies, or receives material it cannot transform.
Sterility and separation prevent any remnant from becoming nourishment.
QuestionWhat can be transformed here, and what requires separate handling?
ActionSort the remnants; combine only what can change together.

An interval without imposed speech in which subtler signals can appear.
Open complete tile +A wide black enamel field holds one fading silver vibration near the rim.
Expression ceases; attention changes scale.
Do not fill the interval automatically. Also ask whose silence is chosen and whose is enforced.
Listening, rest, privacy, and unforced understanding.
Silence conceals harm, withholds needed truth, or imposes exclusion.
Absence of speech becomes control and isolates the unheard.
Continuous noise prevents reflection and reception.
QuestionWhat becomes audible here, and what truth is being withheld?
ActionHold one quiet interval; then say the one necessary thing.

Vibration made shareable: expression traveling through a medium and altering what receives it.
Open complete tile +One brass line leaves a dark bell-like hollow and becomes widening uneven ripples.
Stored breath becomes tone, message, resonance, and fading.
A message matters, but its effect depends on tone, timing, medium, and reception.
Communication, warning, music, and mutual attunement.
Expression becomes noise, performance, manipulation, or echo.
Volume overwhelms meaning and erases response.
A needed signal never reaches the field.
QuestionWhat needs to be voiced once and then allowed to resonate?
ActionSay it plainly; do not repeat until you have listened.

Evidence of relation between light, form, and position: neither substance nor mere absence.
Open complete tile +An unseen form is known only by a soft black shape crossing moon-white enamel.
Illumination meets an obstacle and reveals its contour indirectly.
Something is being inferred from indirect evidence. Separate contour from story.
Depth, contrast, privacy, and recognition of what a self-image excludes.
The unknown is treated as evil, or projection is mistaken for fact.
Suspicion fills every dark shape with invented motive.
Flat self-certainty denies consequence, occlusion, and unseen parts.
QuestionWhat do I observe, and what am I projecting into it?
ActionWrite the observation without motive; change the angle of light.

Reflective relation that reveals a view, reverses it, and never contains the whole thing reflected.
Open complete tile +A dark silver mirror holds half a moon and an open edge; its surface includes one deliberate distortion.
An image returns through angle, surface, and light.
A reflection is offering useful feedback, but it is partial and reversed.
Self-recognition, feedback, comparison, and reversal of view.
Reflection becomes vanity, surveillance, imitation, or mistaken identity.
The image replaces the living relation and endless checking prevents action.
Feedback is refused; blind spots remain protected.
QuestionWhat does this reflection reveal—and what can it never show?
ActionReceive one piece of feedback; verify it in lived conditions.
